Month: June 2006

  • A good day

I went clothes shopping some today. Did I need clothes? No. Do I feel better after spending a little on myself? Yes. I love hitting second-hand and thrift stores. Sometimes you find stuff that simply no one else is going to have. I don't care so much about trends whether you are talking about embracing or denying them, although I do like being original. My favorite find was what I have dubbed my Ancient Greece t-shirt. It has Greek writing and artwork all over it... and it's green. I love green, it's one of my favorite colors. I did discover that I cannot wear solid red or pink very well at all. It looks bad on me. LOL. One of the thrift stores I hit was very pink happy. I think we thank Victoria Secret for that. The guys should understand this as well. I don't know a guy who doesn't look at a Victoria Secret catalog when presented with the opportunity.

My Happy Bunny Calendar now says "your anger makes me happy" for June. I think that's such a heartwarming thought. Actually, I fly pretty calm in the face of other people's anger. Sometimes that makes the situation worse though, especially if I do the expressionless eyebrow raise. I have to fight NOT to do the eyebrow raise because what it means to most other people is not what it means to me and you usually don't get the opportunity to explain your own body language. LOL. (It means I'm listening and I'm trying to figure out what the problem is if I do it, in case anyone cares.)

Nanny McPhee, o.k., so it's a kids film, but it's awesome and worth seeing unless you're in the mood for a gore-fest or something. In which case, Hostel seems to be the big cheese amongst the new DVD releases. All the new horror releases are either cheesy or too over-the-top for my tastes. I haven't had much time to peruse the action line much, I'm sure there's good stuff out there... I'm hoping my copy of Final Fantasy: Advent Children shows up next week. I don't remember when Underworld: Evolution is releasing but I preordered it so it should be showing up soon as well. I happen to be one of those who enjoyed the first film, but I won't make any predictions as to how I'll feel about the sequel.

I feel like I should apologize for my entries being so blah, but I haven't written much poetry to share. Maybe I can shake the gears loose this evening and give you all something literary for your reading pleasure.

Another note, it looks like I might have a new client for cleaning which will be nice. If not, that's o.k. too, but I interview Monday evening, so wish me luck.
