  • (Not Much) Playing Today

I'm somewhat glad to have the extra hours this week, but you do get
used to that extra day off. Oh well - I'll survive, right? Especially
since I was thinking of taking another part-time job until I can get
more hours at the current one.

By the way, if anyone is bored with Neopets and wants to join me at another virtual pet site, go here: http://classic.nutrinopets.com/signup.php?referrer=moonmage

My username is moonmage if anyone wants to add me to their friends
list. Yes, you'd think by this point I'd have my hands full with the
real ones to not want to play with the virtual ones, but I like these
kind of sites better than traditional game sites. I don't know why, but
    I do. LOL.

Tonight's Survivor. Who's gonna watch it with me?

  • Winter returned...

It's not that cold, but it feels cold because I've been so spoiled
lately with the unseasonably warm weather. We didn't get snow at least.
It's not that I don't like snow, I do like it around Yule, but once
February comes, I am looking forward to spring in March. LOL.

Dogs are driving each other and everyone else nuts today. *sigh* But it's all good.

I've been up since 5:30 thanks to a dying carbon monoxide detector. shoot me now? LOL.

I love the 'Revenge of the Sisterhood' series.

  • Feeling Froggy?

    I'm a White's Tree Frog!
    Also
known as the Smiling Tree Frog or Dumpy Tree Frog due to the nature of
its appearance, this frog is a very hardy creature and a favorite pet
of amateur frog owners, although some pet owners complain that they are
not active enough. These frogs love to eat, which can make them quite
fat, hence their "dumpy" appearance. Unlike many frogs, these frogs do
well with other frogs of their species and are fairly friendly. They
like a warm and moderately humid habitat and eat larger insects like
crickets, cockroaches, locusts, moths and beetles.

What kind of Frog are you?

Yes, it's yet another personality quiz. Proof that I have nothing
much to say. Or rather, that I tend to wait to say something until I
feel something has reached a kind of conclusion that I have answers for
my own questions. I'm off this morning until early afternoon for a
couple of hours. Then I'll hit the gym after I turn my paperwork in and
change appropriately. It's supposed to be nice today. I like this
warmer weather. We've had enough winter, thankee. I'll take an order of
spring now. I've discovered that some people actually have phobias
about frogs and think they are ugly?

I love frogs and enjoy having them around. On the flipside, I am
barbaric and like to eat frog legs. What on earth does this say about
    me? LOL.

  • RE: Baka (last post)

The true baka was the post
office in that instance. They didn't deliver it when the tracking said
they did. I'm keeping this short and sweet because I've got a long day
at work today. Need to eat breakfast.

  • Baka!

Word of advice: Don't try to tell someone on Ebay that you didn't get
your item if it has priority mail tracking on it. That's my rant for
the month. I used to have rants of the day or rants of the week, but
since I have a job I love... I just don't do it anymore. But this
really took the cake. It'll probably mean a negative rating for me
though, which is highly unfair, but that's the breaks, right? I will
contact Ebay staff if that happens though. I mean, even if he didn't
get it - that's the fault of the post office and it's up to him to
figure out what happened to his 'lost' package.

O.k. a bunch of people spammed one of my guestbooks too. That's it, I'm
putting it on moderated status. ARG! I am not a free advertising
service for 'mature' sites or medications that I will never have a use
    for.

Now if someone wants to sign with their business site (i.e. legitimate), go right ahead.

My brother and sister-in-law are here, so I need to skedaddle. Yes, I used one of those funny hick words. ha!

  • One pissed off former Army brat in the house...

Mom Buys Body Armor for Son
    United Press International  |  January 09, 2006
NEW YORK - A New York City mother says she spent about $3,000 for body armor -- a Christmas gift for her son in the U.S. Marines who is deployed to Iraq.
Elaine Brower said her son, James Brower, gave her a list of items Marine buddies gave him, to buy body armor online.
    James
Brower had been deployed to Afghanistan, but when he returned he became
a New York City police officer. Now, he has been redeployed as a
    reserve to
Iraq and when his mom asked him what he wanted for Christmas, he said "body armor."
    Elaine
Brower made the purchases online for $2,200. Then she spent $800 for
armor for her son's legs, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.
    James
Brower had assisted Marines and Soldiers who had lost limbs in Iraq at
the New York City Marathon and they suggested leg armor -- especially
    to protect the femoral artery.
    The
son says everything fits and is comfortable and mom is set to make an
Internal Revenue Service claim of up to $1,100 -- thanks to a recently
enacted: "Claim for Reimbursement and Payment Voucher for Privately
Purchased Protective, Safety or Health Equipment Used in Combat."

Sound Off...What do you think? Join the discussion.

This is SO totally bogus. Where are our tax dollars for the war going
if not to provide proper armor, weapons, and such for our soldiers?
Probably lining politicians pockets is what. *growls* Write your
senators, people. Tell them you won't stand for it.

  • TeaChef

I realized that I didn't post in here that I won the December TeaChef.
I got my prize on Thursday - it was a thing for brewing loose leaf teas
and a bag of spearmint tea. Very handy and cool!
I also got my sample tea for this month's competition. So I'll probably
be playing some this week trying to come up with something decent. I
think I know what I want to do, but it'll depend on how it tastes.

I've actually got my headphones on at the moment, because the sounds
from the dishwasher are driving me nuts. Don't know why - most of the
time I don't even notice it. lol. I did listen to the CD below
yesterday, I got it in the mail on Friday. I guess I had a credit on my
BMG account so it didn't cost me anything... or I guess it did, I had
    just already paid it. LOL.

I do have a free spruce tree coming. That'll be fun planting. heh. :)

I guess I should get some breakfast. Catch you all later!

  • My first entry of 2006

I've lost another five lbs. since the last time I wrote about it in
here, so I must be doing something right, especially since it's just
after the holidays. I've not written out any goals for the year yet
really. I probably should. I hesitate to use the word resolution since
that seems to mean for many people that it has to be accomplished
within a year. It's really just an inventory of who you are each year
and what you are trying to achieve. O.k. it's cliched, but the journey
is more important than the destination.

I don't know when it happened, but my cat has gotten slightly chubby
again. He's not as active either. I guess because the pups aren't
little puppies anymore and they don't play as much either. So I'm
trying to spend time with all three getting them playing pretty
rigorously several times a day. One of the dogs needs to lose weight
also. He need to be around ten lbs. and he was at sixteen. Raina's not
as bad. She might be a couple of lbs. over if that. I figured with as
little food the dogs eat, they must be getting too many treats and that
seems to be holding true. They get a treat every few days instead of
every morning like I used to do. Anyway working with them should help
    me too.

I am thinking about getting a kitten to keep things interesting a few
years anyway. Which is a little strange - there's a gray and white
tuxedo kitten at a shelter in the southern part of the state that has
the same name as he does. That would be kinda funny, I guess. Call one
name and both cats come. Actually, all my pets do anyway because they
are all nosy. Plus, they all have names starting with 'R'. heh. That
wasn't actually planned, it just turned out that way.

  • Happy New Year

I hope everyone has a great 2006. It's hard to believe that 2005 is almost gone. I hope everyone has a great time tonight.

I'm glad that I have kerosene heaters because otherwise I would have no
heat in my house at the moment. The soonest they can get out to fix it
is Tuesday. By the way, kerosene is really expensive now and I find
    that quite rude.

I have some company coming in about an hour. (They aren't staying until
tonight, but that's o.k. too.) I'm off until Tuesday myself, so, I'll
    have another three day week.

  • Tea and Boxing Day

Well, I am set in tea. My brother and sister-in-law always give me tea
sets. Actually my sister usually does as well, but she's under the
weather and they were wanting to wait to exchange gifts until after the
    first of the year anyway.

I am off work for today. I'm probably going to go peruse the Dollar
store for any left over deals. Yes, I'm insane to try and fight with
other shoppers for the 'deals'. Didn't you know that already? I figure,
though, plenty of people around here will probably be working. Yeah.
Right. If I got off, so did everyone and their second cousin.

Hey - my recipe is listed at TeaChef. You can view all the recipes for this month here: http://www.teachef.com/view_all_recipes.html
    - Mine's the diabetic chocolate spearmint muffins. Please vote if you
think it's the best one on there. Yes, my first name is Frances, but
I've always gone by my middle name. Lots of awesome recipes on there
    though so good luck everyone.

Happy Boxing Day for my friends in Australia and the U.K.
